Whether you wish to join one of our small, personalised group tours, or wander quietly discovering the flora and fauna on your own self guided bushwalk, Undara will give you an experience as unique as its ecology. Access to the National Park is on GUIDED TOUR ONLY – Booking Essential.

 The Lost World Adventure – Allow 8 hrs

The tour begins with a walk around the rim of Kalkani crater where the collapsed line of the lava tube is highly visible and the vast scope of the tube system is most evident. Each section of the lava tubes has its own story to tell, and you’ll see it all. Morning & afternoon tea are served in the bush, and your buffet lunch presented at Undara Experience.

What You Will See

Lava Tubes. The Undara Lava Tubes are a world class attraction and Savannah Guides unravel their secrets to make this a truely rewarding and educational experience. The Undara Lava Tubes are not only the oldest on Earth but part of the longest lava flow in the world from a single volcanic crater in modern geological time. You will find them beautifully stunning and supurbly interpreted.

Australian Native Wildlife. Focusing on the wildlife and ecology of Undara this tour will introduce you to the general inhabitants of the Gulf Savannah Country with possible sightings of Eastern Grey Kangaroos, shy Rock Wallbies and the amazing micro bats that call these tunnels home.

Bush Walking. On the Lost World Adventure be prepared to do some walking. You can expect to remain on solid boardwalks with some stair climbing when submerging into the tunnels however there will be a moderate hike exposed to the early sun. It is still a good idea to bring sufficient water, sun protection and foot ware.

Photography. Undara is a photographer’s dream with spectacular sunrises and sunsets, majestic natural scenery, and the amazing flora and fauna unique to Outback Australia and this tour will provide you with plenty of shot opportunites with some great landscapes.

Tour Details

All tours are conducted in air-conditioned vehicles with highly trained and award winning Savannah Guides who enjoy sharing the Gulf Savannah and Undara with you. It is important that all passengers wear enclosed footwear, and hats are strongly recommended. Bring your camera, as photos are welcomed, and we recommend you bring your own torch.

Our international guests may borrow a synopsis of the tour in German, French, Italian or Japanese, and there is also a written English version available for those with hearing difficulties.

Children’s rates for these tours apply to children between the ages of 4 and 14 years inclusive. Where offered, family passes include 2 adults and up to 4 children.
